UK weather: Summer washout today before maps predict possible 33C August scorcher

A blistering surge from North Africa, Spain and France is predicted to begin pushing northwards towards the UK before September, with London and the south east set for particularly searing hot weather

Experts have forecast another dreary day for many parts of the country with rain and blustery showers predicted as the poor summer weather continues.

The Met Office said that for Tuesday there will be cloud and rain moving east across central and southern England and Wales. They added that some brightness is possible later with some sunny spells but there will be a few blustery showers in the far north.

Meanwhile, other meteorologists have predicted that a there is a “distinct possibility” that temperatures above 30C will blanket the country in a late August heat blast.
