 Bhasker Patel has revealed more about his new acting role following his exit from Emmerdale. Bhasker played Rishi Sharma in the ITV soap, who died suddenly after falling down the stairs. The shock death happened on Jai (Chris Bisson) and Laurel's (Charlotte Bellamy) wedding day. Rishi was planning on attending the event – despite the recent troubles with his son – but never made it, with Jai later finding him dead at the bottom of the stairs. The emotional final scenes aired after 12 years on the show for Bhasker. As he leaves life in the Dales behind, Bhasker is already sharing more information about his new role. Each episode is taken from the point of view of a different character and their journey.' Sharing an image on his Instagram, Bhasker can be seen alongside cast and crew members. He is seen wearing a long grey beard and cardigan for the character he's playing, a definite far cry from Rishi in Emmerdale! 'Thanks for watching Rishi over the years,' Bhasker said after his character's exit. 'I feel privileged to have been part of the show for 12 years.
