A woman and her husband have found a name they ‘love’ for their baby girl, who is due next month, but she’s now worried her sister-in-law will think it’s ‘too weird’
One of the most exciting decisions you’ll make when having a baby is the name. Some people might opt for a sentimental moniker, or one they simply like the sound of. While it’s an important decision made between the parents, it can be hard to ignore outside opinions.
One woman felt like she and her husband had picked the perfect name for their baby girl, who is due in a month, but she’s worried her sister will find it too “weird”. While she doesn’t think her sister will dislike the name itself, she thinks her sister might take issue with the fact that it rhymes with her nephew’s name.
Explaining the situation on Mumsnet, the woman asked for help because she and her husband “really love the name” but she’s worried about her sister-in-law’s reaction when she finds out. In a recent post to the forum website, the anonymous woman explained: “Our baby girl is due in a month and we really like a name. Only issue is, it rhymes with my nephew’s name (think Marnie and Barney).
“My nephew is eight, so there will be a bit of an age gap, and although we don’t live near to him, we are a close family. My mum and dad will have six grandchildren, including our new baby, and I don’t want it to be weird for them when they are talking about their grandchildren.
