But what some viewers may not know is that he has starred in Coronation Street and is married to one of it's biggest stars, Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby. The pair first met at the British Soap Awards in 1999 and have two children together. She shared: "Rob's absolutely my best friend in the world. We've only had about two rows in 20 years. I'm not saying we don't get on each other's nerves sometimes, but we're a strong team and we've always allowed each other to be individuals." Revealing she had a crush on him when she was a kid, she admitted she first saw him in Brookside and was taken by him: "I had a sticker of him on my pencil case. I thought he was gorgeous, even though he was 10 years older than me." Robert will return to Emmerdale tonight as part of a huge and dark storyline. Speaking about his return, he said recently: "I am thrilled to be working on Emmerdale again, it's a great show that I have followed for years, with a fabulous cast. It has always had a special place in my heart. I had a fantastic time working on the show playing Gavin Ferris, 24 years ago.
