The hospitalisation meant she had to postpone her eagerly awaited world tour which was due to celebrate her 40 years in the industry. However, Madonna confirmed that she is "on the road to recovery," writing in an Instagram post: "Thank you for your positive energy, Prayers and words of healing and encouragement. "I have felt your love. I'm on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life." She admitted the first thought she had when she realised she was in hospital was of her children, but then that was quickly followed with the anxious realisation she might upset her fans.
