So far the Bees are refusing to budge from their £40million price tag, but there’s a belief at the Emirates that the Spanish international – who was at Sunday’s Community Shield win over Manchester City – can be claimed for cheaper, with only one year remaining on his deal and Raya seemingly only wanting a move to the Emirates.
With Raya in, Matt Turner is set to depart, with Nottingham Forest looking to make the American their new No.1.
Turner was No.2 throughout last season but isn’t thought of as having the personality required to really make the step up and be first choice in North London.
