Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are ‘set to produce a new movie for Netflix’ after reportedly spending $3.8million to secure the film rights for a bestselling novel
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could be on to a winner as they’re reportedly set to produce a new film for Netflix.
The movie, based on the bestselling novel Meet Me at the Lake, is thought to be getting produced by the couple as part of their $112million (£87.7million) deal with the streaming service. Meghan and Harry are said to have spent $3.8million (£3million) to secure the rights to the film.
The book has proven to be a hit with readers, selling 37,000 copies in its first week alone. PR expert Mayah Riaz believes this success could also be emulated for the Sussexes.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: “Harry and Meghan are no strangers to attracting millions of eyes upon what they do and this will be no different. I believe the film could hit record number in the first week at the box office.”
