If made into a curry, the fruit could supply enough of its pungent, meat-like flesh to feed as many as 180 people

What could be the world’s heaviest jackfruit, weighing as much as a teenager, has been discovered in India.

Tipping the scales at a staggering 8.2st, the giant, prickly fruit far outweighs the current Guinness World Records holder.

The new world record contender was reportedly bought for the equivalent of about £6 at a market in a suburb of Kolkata.
