Porsche sparks anger after statue of Jesus ‘airbrushed out’ of new 911 promo advert

Some social media users were left furious after German car giant Porsche took the decision to air brush a popular statue of Jesus out of their latest 9/11 car promo advert

Porsche have sparked anger after they airbrushed out a state of Jesus from a new promo advert.

The car giant released a new advert celebrating 60 years of the iconic 911 sports car, filming in Lisbon Portugal. But in the video, the famous Cristo Rei landmark statue was seemingly edited out.

The statue was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The promotional clip has since been deleted from the company’s YouTube channel. It shows a woman in a red Porsche racing past Lisbon’s 25 de Abril Bridge.

From here you can usually see the iconic Cristo Re (Christ the King) statue looking down over the city. But instead the famous landmark is missing, with Porsche showing the 75ft concrete plinth instead, without the statue on top.
