Roy Keane launches scathing attack on Arsenal and aims harsh dig at Declan Rice

Roy Keane has delivered his assessment on whether he believes Arsenal can push for the Premier League title after missing out to Manchester City at the end of last season

Roy Keane has admitted he is “not sure” whether Arsenal can go toe-to-toe with Manchester City for the Premier League title in a scathing assessment of the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s side finished second in the top-flight last season and narrowly missed out on their first title in 19 years, eventually falling short by five points. It meant Pep Guardiola’s City lifted the Premier League for the third successive season and they went on to win the FA Cup and Champions League to claim the treble.

In an attempt to go one better this time around, Arsenal have spent over £200million in the summer transfer window. Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice have come through the door at the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners try and win the Premier League.

Before the Community Shield against City, Keane, however, delivered a brutal assessment of the Gunners and their misfortunes last season. He told ITV: “A lot of people talk a good game and where they need to improve, but the proof is in the pudding. They got themselves into a decent position last year, but they came up short physically and mentally, strength in depth.
