Oppenheimer starlet Emily Blunt has revealed which iconic Marvel role she missed out on, which in turn lost her an eye-watering amount of cash for forgoing it.
The Devil Wears Prada actress, 40, has spoken of how a rival actress got a massive payday in the form of an $80 million (£63m) salary for starring in a hit Marvel movie. Emily turned down the offer of starring in the movie back in 2010 due to other commitments, with her now revealing what she missed out on and who took on the role she forwent.
The Wandsworth-born British actress, who became a naturalised citizen of the United States in 2015, has spoken of how she was unable to accept the leading role as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to contractual obligations while starring in 2010’s Gulliver’s Travels.
Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Emily revealed that Scarlett Johansson, who landed the role of Black Widow and made it famous, was “amazing” at portraying the fierce super hero. She added that she was the best person for the role before gushing over her portrayal.
