The NFL legend was quick to react after Siriki Dembele scored the first league goal for Birmingham City, and the first goal since Brady became a co-owner of the Championship team.
Tom Brady has wasted no time in showing his support for Birmingham City since becoming the club’s new co-owner. The Blues opened the season with a 1-1 draw against Swansea, which saw new signing Siriki Dembele impress his new boss in style.
Both sides wanted to make an early impression in their first league game of the season with a handful of chances coming early on. Despite several wasted opportunities, it took Birmingham’s newest recruit just 45 minutes to get on the score-sheet and make his mark on the league.
The ex-Bournemouth forward found himself unmarked on the edge of the box following a calamitous mistake at the back. Swansea goalkeeper Carl Rushworth attempted a risky pass, which was quickly intercepted by Keshi Anderson and passed to Dembele.
The Ivory Coast winger calmly placed his shot into the top right hand corner, giving the Blues a deserved lead. The goal prompted a reaction from the club’s newest fan, and co-owner, Tom Brady, who tweeted: “Way to finish!!! @Sdembele_7 @BCFC.”
