Nigeria boss Randy Waldrum is plotting England’s downfall at the 2023 Women’s World Cup and says his team will be ready for Keira Walsh
Nigeria coach Randy Waldrum says his side will be ready for a potential Keira Walsh return when facing England in the World Cup last 16.
The Super Falcons boss is readying his side for a knock-out clash with the European Champions in Brisbane on Monday, having already escaped the tournament’s Group of Death. England have been handed a huge boost with star midfielder Keira Walsh returning to full training.
It maybe too soon for Walsh to start but she will travel with the squad and could play some part for the Lionesses. And Waldrum is expecting a tough game, whether the Barcelona playmaker is involved or not.
“Obviously she’s a key player in their midfield,” he said. “Kind of like what we had to do with Sam Kerr, we didn’t know and had to prepare with her there and without.
