Ukrainian football favourites Andriy Shevchenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko will captain teams in a charity game at Stamford Bridge to raise money to rebuild their homeland
On Saturday, football legends and famous faces will unite at Stamford Bridge to raise money for war-torn Ukraine.
The inaugural Game 4 Ukraine will be played in front of thousands of fans at Chelsea’s ground, with the money raised being used to help rebuild Ukraine’s facilities and infrastructure damaged by Russia’s ongoing invasion of the European country.
In February 2022, Vladimir Putin ordered a full-scale invasion of Ukraine – eight years after a conflict between the two countries first started. The war has devastated Ukraine, leading to thousands of innocent deaths and billions of pounds worth of damage.
Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky will address the crowd at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with several musicians performing throughout the evening. There will be an extended half-time show followed by more live music at full-time.
