 Planning a date any time soon? You might want to listen up, because according to a new survey, there are a few date activities that can put you at risk of giving somebody the dreaded ick. Greetings card company Thortful polled 2,000 Brits to find what their most ick-inducing first date ideas are. But before we get to the ickiest pick, let's start with the top five. Sorry to the karaoke and hiking fans out there, because these came in fifth and fourth respectively, with 20% of the vote going to open mic nights/karaoke, and 22% to taking a long walk. People seem to have a distaste for physical activities in general for a first date too, with climbing/bouldering coming in third with 23% of the vote. The rather niche 'being invited to watch the other person do something (for example, compete in a sport)' then claimed second place with 24%, which may be down to flashbacks of Ken's awkward guitar performance in the Barbie movie. And as for the ickiest date? It may seem like a fun way to get to know each other, but escape rooms got the most votes at 25%. On the less casual side, 27% also said that going for a meal at a restaurant was their top choice. Relationship Psychologist Mairead Molloy commented: 'Notice how the top date ideas are all based around sharing food and drink – this is the easiest way for us to relax and feel comfortable having conversations while sussing out your date. 'First dates are important to us because humans are hardwired to want a relationship, so we put a lot of pressure on them.
