LBC owner shakes up management amid decline in listeners

Key figures depart at UK’s largest commercial radio group as audiences tune out

The owner of LBC has overhauled its management team amid a decline in audience numbers for speech radio and increased competition from rivals such as Rupert Murdoch’s Talk Radio.

Global, which is the UK’s largest commercial radio group, has seen both its finance and marketing chiefs leave the business in recent weeks.

Darren Singer, a veteran media executive who previously worked at the Guardian, stepped down as chief financial officer in July.

He has been replaced by Ben Porter, a former Rupert Murdoch lieutenant at Foxtel and Sky.
