However, the two teams remain in dialogue over a fee and there's optimism on all sides to get a deal done. The deal could take Arsenal's spending past the £230m mark following the arrivals of Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz. Despite his impressive form last season, Arteta wants competition for Ramsdale.
