Jill Scott explains why England can win the World Cup and crucial advice she gave to players

Jill Scott has been hanging out with her former teammates during the World Cup Down Under and offering the players advice on how to deal with the intensity of the competition

Lionesses mam Jill Scott says that being in the England World Cup camp is a lot like being in the jungle – but this time she “definitely won’t be eating any witchetty grubs”.

The former player was crowned Queen of the Jungle last year after a football career spanning 16 years, with 161 England caps. But returning Down Under for the first time since her time on I’m a Celebrity, Jill, 36, is now an ITV pundit and co-host with Sky Sports’ Kyle Walker on England YouTube show, Lionesses Down Under.

Between working, hunting for good coffee and running on the beach she’s been hanging out with her former teammates – including offering them advice on how to deal with the intensity of World Cup life. She said: “I went for food with a few of the girls on a day off and obviously they kept in touch when I came out of the jungle, but I felt like for the first time I could speak to them properly about it.

“They were asking, ‘do you really not get fed for that amount of time?’ That’s what everybody always asks – they think they feed you on the sly, and I say ‘no, it really is difficult’. There’s a lot that you can relate to camp life in terms of football, like the friendships that you make.
