Coronation Street’s Henry Newton is back on the soap in upcoming scenes, and it’s not long before he’s causing trouble. It’s teased he could be around for a while, with him tipped to be the new owner of The Rovers Return.
The pub is facing closure and could be torn down, as money issues have left landlady Jenny Connor with no option but to seek new buyers. Henry and his father Phillip are lined up to take over the famous pub, but it could lead to tension between other residents.
Long-time viewers of the soap will know Henry had a thing for Gemma Winter the last time he was around, and that hasn’t changed. What has changed is the fact she is now married to Chesney Brown, and is a mother of four.
