The Saudi Pro League has wreaked havoc for European football clubs this summer, and is showing no signs of slowing down as stars continue to be offered huge money moves
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is heading for a bitter collision course with his own player over a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.
The transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Al-Nassr last January has proved a major tipping point in world football, with numerous top stars following him to the middle east this summer. His former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema has joined Al-Ittihad, with a host of Premier League players also taking huge money contracts.
Manchester City have lost treble winning forward Riyad Mahrez to Al-Ahli, whilst Jordan Henderson relinquished the club captaincy at Liverpool in favour of a switch to Al-Ettifaq. And this week another former favourite at the Reds, Sadio Mane, confirmed he was ditching Bayern Munich after just one season to link up with Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.
And the pair are set to be joined by Barca centre back Clement Lenglet. Despite being contracted until 2026, the French international has fallen out of favour at the Catalan giants, spending last season on loan at Spurs.
