However, cybersecurity experts at NordVPN are warning people against doing exactly this, as there's been a spate of cyber attacks on film fans from hackers targeting free movie streaming links. Apparently, cyber criminals are circulating malicious links on Twitter and elsewhere claiming to offer free streams of this year's summer blockbusters. But instead of popcorn, these links could be handing you malware, phishing scams, viruses and lots of other unwanted nasties with your movie. According to NordVPN, the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3 is the riskiest film to stream illegally. The firm picked up on over 19 malicious links, 13 phishing warnings, and six malware concerns being flagged for the movie. Meanwhile, links to the Super Mario Bros Movie are the second-most risky, packed with 15 malicious links and five malware warnings. Even the biggest films of the year, Barbie and Oppenheimer, aren't safe. Links to Barbie were the third-most risky, with 16 malicious links and three suspicious warnings attached to so-called 'free' streams. Links to Oppenheimer were handed more than 11 warnings, while other films like the new Indiana Jones, John Wick: Chapter 4, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts weren't safe either.
