After winning over the critics with a four-week run at Southwark crown court, Kevin Spacey is plotting his return to a grander stage. The American actor was seen having dinner in Mayfair on Monday with Sir Trevor Nunn, who seemed keen to encourage him to make a Shakespearean comeback. Nunn directed Spacey as Richard II in 2005 at the Old Vic. They also worked together in 2009 on the courtroom drama Inherit the Wind. Spacey, below, tossed off a soliloquy to show he’d still got the hang of iambs, then they were heard discussing Timon of Athens. The play concerns a once popular patron who is bled dry and abandoned by fair-weather friends and plots revenge. Wonder where he will find his motivation.
