At the height of lockdown, Lana took to Instagram to share her 'questions for the culture' post, which was poorly received at the time. The now-deleted open letter expressed her frustrations that the music industry did not leave space for her and her music. She pitted her style against female singers who 'have had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, f***ing, cheating etc.' In the post, she named Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Kehlani, Nicki Minaj and Beyonce. The seemingly unprovoked attack on her fellow artists lead to disapproval from fans but now it seems over half the singers have been involved in some sort of scandal.
