Harry Kane puts foot down as Bayern remain well short of Tottenham’s transfer valuation

Bayern Munich are continuing talks with Tottenham over a deal for Harry Kane, but the England captain has now set a deadline on those discussions as the Premier League season approaches

Harry Kane will stay at Tottenham for the rest of the season if Bayern Munich cannot agree a deal with Spurs before the start of the campaign.

Bayern are desperately attempting to convince Daniel Levy to sanction a sale, having seen two bids turned down already. Spurs value Kane at around £100million, though Bayern are yet to show an appetite to shell out such a large fee on the England captain.

Kane only has a year remaining on his contract, with Tottenham keen to avoid seeing him leave the club for free next summer. But he has now put a deadline on completing a move this summer, which could prompt Bayern and Spurs into further talks.

According to the Evening Standard, Kane expects to remain with Spurs if an agreement for a sale has not been reached before the opening game of the Premier League season. Spurs face Brentford on 13 August to kick off the top-flight campaign, meaning Bayern have until then to agree a fee.
