Love Island runners-up Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki have spoken out on finishing second to this series’ champions Jess Harding and Sammy Root, who were crowned last night
Love Island fans were left stunned on Monday night when Maya Jama revealed Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki had finished behind winners Jess Harding and Sammy Root in the live dinal but, the runners-up have admitted that they too were “shocked” by the result.
The runners-up, who received 26.85 per cent of the vote compared to winners’ 34.57 per cent, were surprised by the public’s backing and had no idea they would last so long in the ITV2 reality series.
Speaking out on the final result, Lochan said: “[It feels] shocking! That’s the word that really stands out. Extremely grateful that the public saw what I saw in Whitney. Being in the final was a real shock.”
“I was a bombshell and he was a Casa boy,” Whitney added and Lochan continued: “I didn’t have as long a journey but it was an amazing feeling. I felt so blessed. I could have left two weeks ago and been happy and I think it was the same for Whitney. We took everything in.”
