Esther Sturrus, a flight attendant with Dutch airline KLM, shares travel tips on her TikTok page including what to do if you arrive on holiday without a charger
Globetrotters and jet setters who find themselves running low on battery without a plug should fear not, according to a flight attendant who’s shared one of their insider secrets. Finding yourself in a foreign country with a phone without any juice and the wrong kind of plug-socket will be a familiar experience for many. If you find yourself in that position and you’re in a hotel, then it may be worth making a quick room check before you head to the nearest electronics shop.
Flight attendant Esther Sturrus, who works for Dutch airline KLM, recently took to her TikTok channel to share some of her best hotel hacks, including one for adaptor free holidaymakers. “World travel plug broken? Use your USB cable and charge it in the TV! This is extremely helpful if you forgot or lost your wall plug from your charger,” she says in the video.
Therefore, holidaymakers don’t need to pack an adapter or wall plug when going on holiday anymore, but only bring the cable with them. If you’ve forgotten that, it’ll probably be cheaper to buy on its own than the plug and cable together.
The cable can be connected to the TV’s USB port, which acts as a charging circuit and is normally located on the rear or side of the unit. It is also a good idea to check the plug sockets, as many now have a USB socket installed as well.
