NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
It’s set to be a puppy massacre at the cinema as horror classic Saw and kids’ favourite Paw Patrol prepare for their releases this month… meaning Barbenheimer will finally have to exit stage left.
Over the past few weeks, cinema has been dominated by the heightened anticipation for Barbenheimer, a term that was coined to symbolise the battle between Barbie and Oppenheimer due to them both being released on the same day – July 21.
Since then, Barbie has smashed box office records having grossed over $781million so far and being well on its way to reaching a billion. Oppenheimer hasn’t fared too badly either, grossing $406m and predictions that the star-studded cast – notably Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt – will earn Oscar nominations next year.
However, the two blockbusters will have to make way for the new kids on the block with Saw X and Paw Patrol 2 set for release in US cinemas on September 29.
