A pilot is said to be injured after a banner plane plummeted into the sea off Myrtle Beach in South Carolina – a group of shocked bystanders are now trying to pull it out of the water
A plane has plummeted out of the sky and crashed into the sea in front of horrified beachgoers on South Carolina’s Myrtle Beach.
Police scanner activity shows a banner plane is down in the water at 40th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, having plunged into the sea amid shocked swimmers and surfers.
A group of 10 to 15 bystanders were in the water when the plane crashed but miraculously only the pilot is said to have been injured, and the brave crowd is now said to be trying to pull the aircraft onto the beach.
The pilot is said to be out of the plane and to have been the only occupant, with the plane left stricken 20 yards out to sea among the surf.
