Phil Mickelson takes latest swipe at PGA Tour chief as LIV Golf merger draws closer

Phil Mickelson has once again took to social media to discuss the deal between the PGA Tour and Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, this time taking aim at a Tour chief

LIV Golf star Phil Mickelson has once again hit out at the PGA Tour, this time taking aim at the American-based circuit’s chief operating officer Ron Price.

Price and board member Jimmy Dunne appeared in front of the U.S. Senate to provide evidence on the Tour’s framework agreement with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF). The shock deal announced last month will see the Tour work alongside rivals LIV Golf and the DP World Tour.

The agreement is set to bring to an end a year-long bitter feud within the world of professional golf, after the PGA Tour went toe-to-toe with the Saudi-backed LIV setup.

One man who has played as big a role as anyone in the saga is former PGA Tour star, turned LIV loyalist Mickelson. The six-time major champion became the sport’s biggest name to join the breakaway league last year, paving the way for the likes of Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson to follow suit.
