Strictly star Janette Manrara gives birth to first baby with Aljaz Skorjanec

Janette Manrara has given birth to her first child with fellow Strictly Come Dancing star husband Aljaz Skorjanec . The It Takes Two host, 39, and the Slovenian professional dancer, 33, had previously been open about the struggles they had experienced with their fertility. Janette and Aljaz confirmed they were expecting a baby in February this year, with the presenter documenting her pregnancy journey ever since via Instagram . The couple had been trying to conceive for more than two years before they received the happy news that they were expecting. Due to the size of her baby and the size of her hips, Janette was advised to have an elective C-section for a safe delivery. However, Janette insisted the prospect of the C-section wasn’t worrying her, telling Hello! Magazine : “But I feel really relaxed about it all. ‘You really can’t plan everything because there are so many variables and I’m kind of open to all the different options and scenarios.” Before getting pregnant, Janette had feared her dream of becoming a mother would be unlikely to come true, as she approached her 40th birthday. Janette and Aljaz had arranged to begin IVF treatment, but the dancer was shocked to discover she was already pregnant. The Strictly star divulged to the publication while sharing her pregnancy news: “For the past couple of years we hadn’t been using protection but nothing was happening, so we thought IVF was the next best thing for us to do. “I turn 40 later this year and the NHS offers really good services to women under 40. ‘The doctor said that as soon as I got my period we would start injections, but my period never came.’
