Bronny James makes first appearance since cardiac arrest

The 18-year-old, who is the son of NBA star LeBron James, collapsed during practice at the University of Southern California (USC) on Monday. The teenager was taking part in a practice session before he was reported to have collapsed on the court and was rushed to hospital. After a 9-1-1 call, Bronny was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and taken into the intensive care unit (ICU). Reports soon surfaced that Bronny was in a stable condition and out of the ICU. LeBron was spotted outside the hospital arriving with a friend two days after his son’s health emergency. On Thursday, three days after the emergency, it was announced that Bronny had been discharged from hospital. The 18-year-old is the oldest of LeBron and Savannah James’ three children. Bronny James has been spotted for the first time since being discharged from hospital (Image: Getty Images) Merije Chukumerije, a cardiovascular doctor at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA, was “encouraged” by Bronny’s response to the incident. “Thanks to the swift and effective response by the USC athletics’ medical staff, Bronny James was successfully treated for a sudden cardiac arrest,” Dr Chukumerije said. “He arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, neurologically intact and stable.
