Love Island’s Maya Jama ‘set to secure huge pay rise’ after impressing ITV bosses

Maya Jama is fast becoming one of the most bankable stars on TV as it’s claimed ITV bosses want to giver her a massive pay rise to stay on as Love Island host

Maya Jama is reportedly set to get a huge pay rise after impressing ITV bosses as the new host of Love Island.

The 28-year-old TV presenter took over from Laura Whitmore when the winter series of the dating show aired in January. She has also been hosting Love Island spin-off AfterSun, which has been a huge hit with viewers.

When she was offered the job, Maya revealed she said yes straight away, describing it as a “golden ticket”. And all her hard work – which includes pulling in higher viewing figures for AfterSun than the actual Love Island show – looks to have paid off. Now it’s claimed she is set to be offered a staggering £750,000 pay packet to stay on as host for the next series.

“ITV absolutely love Maya – she’s gone down a storm with viewers and is perfect with her fun banter and flirty style,” a source told The Sun. “Execs see her as part of the ongoing success of the show so are preparing a pay increase when it comes to renewing her contract ahead of the of the next series. She’s one of their hottest commodities and they’re determined to keep her happy.” They added that Maya really enjoys hosting and that it’s a “dream job” that’s allowed her to do other projects.
