 Emmerdale has issued an update on Priya Kotecha (Fiona Wade) in the wake of Rishi Sharma's (Bhasker Patel) tragic demise, revealing that the wedding planner is utterly heartbroken. Rishi, as viewers know, met a shocking fate earlier this week after he failed to show up to son Jai's (Chris Bisson) wedding. The patriarch was subsequently found dead at the bottom of the stairs at Holdgate, with Jai being the one to make the heartwrenching discovery. News of Rishi's death travelled around the village like wildfire, with a number of mainstays including Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) and Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) utterly bereft by his sudden passing. Another resident who took the news to heart was none other than Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), who was formerly married to Rishi, with the GP arriving in the Woolpack to notify everyone of the popular resident's sad death. Manpreet took it upon herself to inform Priya of her father's passing, calling her from the pub to share the heartbreaking news, with her dialogue suggesting that the wedding planner was left devastated.
