Withering Emily Maitlis slams Nigel Farage’s ‘utter entitlement’ over NatWest row

Former BBC journalist Ms Maitlis hit out at the “power of the populist” after Mr Farage voiced his anger at the “posh private bank” – saying he had turned “utter entitlement into victimhood” during the NatWest row

Former BBC journalist Emily Maitlis has delivered a scathing verdict on Nigel Farage, accusing him of turning “utter entitlement into victimhood” over the NatWest row.

Ms Maitlis hit out at the “power of the populist” after Mr Farage voiced his anger at the “posh private bank”.

NatWest chief executive Dame Alison Rose dramatically quit in the early hours of yesterday morning after private bank Coutts – which it owns – became embroiled in the row.

Mr Farage accused Coutts of closing his account because of his political views, and produced an internal memo that appeared to support his claim.
