The older brother of the late American football player Aaron Hernandez has been arrested by police amid allegations he was plotting to carry out campus shootings.
Dennis Hernandez, 37, was detained by officers who used a stun gun after they went to his house and he reportedly threatened to kill them. Police said that he emerged shouting “shoot me, shoot me”, when they went to his home in Bristol, Connecticut, on July 18.
Hernandez, who had played for the University of Connecticut, had told police he planned to kill anyone who had made money off his younger brother.
Aaron Hernandez, a one-time star for the New England Patriots, took his own life in prison in 2017, having been convicted of murder.
