It is a year today until an opening ceremony like no other takes part on the Seine but as ever with the Olympic Games the build up comes with questions and concerns as safety issues take precedent for organisers
At 8:24pm on this date next year, the Greek delegation will appear at the front of a flotilla on the Seine to mark the beginning of the Paris 2024 opening ceremony.
Across 19 days of competition, 329 gold medals will be won across 32 sports, dreams will be realised and hearts will be broken.
But it would not be an Olympic Games without controversy, questions and concerns.
