Manchester United’s second-team faced League Two Wrexham in the second game of their two-week US pre-season tour.
San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium was the venue for the friendly, which attracted crowd of 34,248 â a record attendance for the venue.
Wrexham took a 2-0 lead, with goals from Elliot Lee and Aaron Hayden, but Marc Jurado pulled a goal back for United just before half-time. Wrexham sealed the win with a goal from substitute Sam Dalby in the 69th minute.
It was a full-blooded clash with Wrexham star Paul Mullin taken to hospital after an ugly challenge by goalkeeper Nathan Bishop and Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore seeing red for a second-half challenge.
