Pep Guardiola’s treble-winning Manchester City side continue their pre-season campaign with a tough fixture against German champions Bayern Munich in Japan on Wednesday
Manchester City’s pre-season continues against German champions Bayern Munich, with the two European giants meeting in Tokyo on Wednesday as part of the Audi Football Summit in Asia.
City’s 2022/23 treble-winning season drew to a close on June 10, leading them to return to pre-season training later than their rivals, playing their first fixture in Japan against Yokohama F Marinos on July 23, a 5-3 win.
This upcoming fixture against Bayern will be followed by a match against Atletico Madrid on July 30 before the traditional Community Shield curtain raiser against Arsenal on August 6.
Bayern, meanwhile, begun their pre season with a remarkable 27-0 win against local club FC Rottach-Egern before flying out to Japan. They will then face Japanese side Kawasaki Frontale before a further friendly against Liverpool in Singapore before their season gets under way.
