But its the peri-peri chicken that has seen the chain likened to its bigger rival Nando's - and it could cost you less. A half chicken with fries and drink at Roosters is priced at £12 whereas the same meal at Nando's will set you back around £14. Meanwhile, a grilled chicken wrap at Roosters will set you back £7 and £7.75 from Nando's. A regular-size coleslaw costs £1.50 at Roosters whereas Nando's sells theirs for £3.75, more than double the price. Not only that, but there's a number of items you can get at Roosters that you can't at Nando's. The chain sells lamb doner wraps, milkshakes and fish and veggie burgers. Fast food fans can pick up popcorn chicken, BBQ beans and hash browns too. The rival to Nando's has caught the attention of plenty of peri-peri fans in recent months. Some say not only is Roosters cheaper, but tastes better too. One recently posted on Facebook: "Roosters chicken in town is the way forward (sorry Nando's). "Wings are bigger LOL, taste better, and are cheaper." Another convert said: "Thought I would try Nando's again after so long, the comparison is easy, Nando's is not good. "Roosters all the way." Meanwhile, a third put it more simply, saying: "Roosters are better than Nando's."
