Tottenham may be the more attractive option for Gallagher, though, with the north Londoners in need of homegrown players as well as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who is strongly linked with a move to Atletico Madrid. Gallagher, who came through the Chelsea academy and has been with the Blues since the age of six, was keen to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge but accepts that he needs to leave with the club unwilling to offer him a new deal. Everton attempted to sign Gallagher in the January transfer window and were willing to pay up to £45m but he was not interested in the move.
