A former special advisor to Boris Johnson became the youngest peer in the House of Lords after taking her seat in the unelected chamber this afternoon.
Charlotte Owen, who is just 30 years old, has been given a peerage for life after being named in the former PM’s honours list of allies, cronies and Partygate pals last month.
There is no formal retirement age for members of the House of Lords, with the oldest peer Lord Christopher, who entered the House in 1998, still partaking at 98 years old.
If Baroness Owen is to sit in the Lords until the same age, she will have been a peer for almost 70 years. The Mirror has long campaigned for the unelected House of Lords to be abolished.
