SOPHIE Raworth revealed one of her late friend and colleague George Alagiah’s final wishes in an emotional on-air tribute to him.
The broadcaster, 55, devoted much of tonight’s News At Six on BBC One to coverage of 67 year-old George’s sad death earlier today.
And at the end of the programme she paid a personal anecdote about the last time she saw him and what he told her.
Sophie said: “I saw him just a few weeks ago. He told me he had hoped to come back to work one last time to say thank you and goodbye, right here, live on air in the studio.
“He didn’t get the chance, so we have done it for him. I will leave you now with George Alagaia in his own words.”
