UK holidaymakers are being told to flee to safe areas as the raging wildfires on the Greek island of Rhodes continue to spread, leaving thousands forced to evacuate
One British mum who was trapped on Rhodes described how she and her family fled from the devastating wildfires spreading across the island.
Abi Davies, her husband, their friends and the couples’ two young sons were forced to run for their lives as the wildfires on the Greek island approached their hotel.
Along with dozens of others, Abi said they ignored orders to stay put and fled on foot, walking around five miles in 42 degree heat yesterday to escape the flames.
Abi blasted authorities for not giving them any help, and said her sons were “petrified”.
