Olivia Malone had tried every fad diet under the sun, but it wasn’t until she educated herself about nutrition and made some simple, but clever, swaps, she started shedding the weight she had gained at university
When Olivia Malone, from Irlam, Salford, went to university, she picked up some unhealthy eating habits. During her days doing an undergraduate degree in Huddersfield and post-graduate in Salford, she would snack on meal deals for lunch, and order takeaways in the evening before going on boozy nights with her friends.
After her friend bought her some scales, she was shocked to find herself weighing 17 stone 7lbs, and decided to make some changes to become healthier.
The 25-year-old decided to ditch the fad diets and instead educate herself on nutrition after being inspired by fitness workouts she saw on Instagram. Thanks to some simple but clever swaps, she’s had an incredible transformation, going from a size 24 down to a size 10, and shedding 8 stone.
Olivia decided to make the change during the first Covid lockdown in 2020. Speaking to Manchester Evening News, she said: “In the first lockdown I got a job that required me to be active, so I thought I might as well start trying to be more healthy.
