Things turned very ugly in New York on Saturday when Arsenal faced off with Premier League rivals Manchester United at the MetLife stadium, but more in the stands than on the pitch
Arsenal fans were filmed fighting each other in the stands of the MetLife Stadium on Saturday during their 2-0 defeat by Premier League rivals Manchester United.
It is unclear what triggered the incident, but a large group of Gunners fans began trading blows with one another before two fell onto the steps of the terraces. Fresh footage shows minimal event staff or security attempting to break it up in its opening exchanges, but one member of stadium staff does eventually appear as tensions start to cool off.
Two fans in particular were left looking particularly battered and bruised, with one sporting a bloodied face having been struck by another supporter while on the stairs. By the time a fair amount of security had arrived on the scene, a fair portion of the fans initially involved in the exchange had already dispersed.
However, those that had carried on the brawling were swiftly escorted from their seats and presumably out of the stadium. All of this occured while the game was taking place, with live footage of the action seen on the screen behind the fighting in the new clip.
