‘I’m sick of female presenters wearing make-up on TV

One mum has sparked debate after sharing how she’s fed up with seeing women on television wearing make-up, and wishes presenters would opt for a more natural look whilst in front of the camera

For some people, wearing make-up boosts their confidence, and makes them feel good and powerful, but for others, they really aren’t that bothered and happily go without opting for a more natural look.

We’re so used to seeing women in the spotlight looking flawless, with airbrushed skin, glossy lips, pretty eyeshadow, and not a hair out of place, making us feel envious of their perfected look.

If you were to be in front of a camera, you might hope there was a dedicated team behind you touching you up to look camera ready, and it’s no secret all television presenters have their glam squad – but one mum has gone viral after admitting she’s had just about enough of seeing women on TV ‘smearing gunk on their face’ and wishes she could see a ‘normal’ face for once.

Claiming it sends a ‘disgusting’ message to young girls, the unnamed woman shared an anonymous post on Mumsnet Am I Being Unreasonable? forum, writing: “I am absolutely sick of seeing men on TV with normal, natural-looking faces, and the women sitting next to them with their faces smeared with gunk. Why can’t women show normal, natural-looking faces on TV too?
