A new mum claims she’s been left seething after her mother-in-law took it upon herself to announce the arrival of their baby, before she’d even had time to recover from a difficult birth
A new mum who suffered a “difficult birth” says she wasn’t even “compos mentis” when her mother-in-law decided to announce the arrival of her baby to wider family members without her permission, including personal details about the birth.
According to this fed-up woman, she’d already been in contact with her parents to let them know the child had arrived safely but hadn’t had the chance to tell other relatives. Before she was even able to reach out and share the happy news for herself, her mother-in-law took it upon herself to update the wider family WhatsApp group, adding in the fact that she’d had a caesarean section.
Taking to Mumsnet, the unnamed woman wrote: “Would this annoy you? I had a difficult birth and we told our parents the baby was here safely.
“Before I was even compos mentis, my mother-in-law had announced it on the wider family WhatsApp group that I am in and included it ended in a c-section. Am I being unreasonable to be very p***** off?”
