Breastfeeding mum Sarah was travelling with American Airlines when a flight attendant allegedly ordered her to ‘cover up’ because there was ‘men and children’ on board
A mum has been left outraged after allegedly being ordered to cover up when breastfeeding her daughter on a plane. Sarah claims an American Airlines worker tapped her on the shoulder mid-flight to get her to “cover up” because “there were men and children around”.
However, she claims she wasn’t showing anything more than what you’d see in a swimming kit. Taking to Reddit, she said: “I took my five-month-old on her third flight yesterday. She was an absolute rockstar on the first two flights a week earlier – she snacked, napped, and basically stayed latched the entirety of one flight and most of another. That’s her basic daily MO.
“She’s a great little eater and a great little sleeper as long as she’s on me and has access to food and as long as her head isn’t covered. Mid-flight, a flight attendant tapped my shoulder. She said that I ‘needed to cover up’ because ‘there were men and children around’.
“My daughter was fully latched and had been the entire flight, so there was no nipple or even areola showing. The top of my breast was showing, but⦠I mean, I used to show more cleavage on a weekend night out. Swimsuits show more.”
