Advocate organisation Kids and Car Safety said the latest death marks the 14th time this year a child has died after being left in a hot vehicle. Experts warn that after 60 minutes, the temperature inside a vehicle can rise more than 4C if there is no circulation - which could be deadly at already high temperatures. The group estimated 38 children die each year from heatstroke after being left in a vehicle. And Florida ranks among the highest states with incidents. Noheatstroke.org says most incidents are caused by a caregiver forgetting a child inside. They said only a few cases are a result of an intentional act. Florida is also being hit with record-warm water temperatures across the gulf. The area is seeing a marine heatwave, a stretch of time where ocean temperatures have consistently been warmer than 90 per cent of the previous year.
