Heinz makes major change to its tomato ketchup bottles

The old style Heinz cap used a flexible valve made from silicone, while the new cap will be made from a “single, rigid material” that can be recycled like normal

Heinz is making a huge change to its top-down squeezy bottles of tomato ketchup from next month.

The food giant is rolling out 100% recyclable caps – meaning the whole bottle can be recycled.

The old style Heinz cap used a flexible valve made from silicone, while the new cap will be made from a “single, rigid material”.

The caps are being rolled out next month UK-wide on 400ml and bigger top-down bottles of Heinz Tomato Ketchup, including 50% less sugar and salt varieties.
